Night Drugs

Using Ian Fleming’s quote, Tracy Recordings 007 had a license to kill!… The fantastic Ep Under the name “You Are My Vision EP” was the debut for Tracy of this two brilliant young kids from the south of France known by the name of Night Drugs. Paul Garcias y Alexaindre Faivre, that is Night Drugs, conform one of the most promising duos from the bagguette country. Just 19 years old each they’ve released more than five Eps, a carrer that started with the interesting “Everybody” en Velcro City Records. Also they’ve worked with several MC’s from the powerful gallic hip hop scene, like, Set & Match or Grez Frite. By joining Tracy Recordings they started an internacional take off and You Are MY Vision Ep” was a perfect way to start with. It contained two original Tracks, “Testify” and “ You Are My Vision”, plus excellent remixes by Dublin’s own young genius Lorcan Mak plus producers Broke One from Italy and Bruxelles’ Pumpies Voyagerz. A luxury Ep for sure!

Parafraseando al ínclito Ian Fleming, el 007 de Tracy Recordings tiene licencia para matar. Este fantástico Ep titulado “You Are My Vision EP” fue el debut para Tracy de estos dos avispados chavales procedentes del sur de Francia que responden al nombre de Night Drugs. Paul Garcias y Alexandre Faivre, o sea Night Drugs, conforman uno de los duos más prometedores del país vecino. Con solo 19 añitos por barba ya han editado más de cinco Eps, singladura que se iniciaba con el recomendable “Everybody” en Velcro City Records. Además han colaborado con numerosos MC’s de la potente escena del hip hop galo, gente como Grems, Set & Match o Grez Frite. Su alineación en las filas de Tracy Recordings significa su despegue a nivel internacional. Y los chicos lo hicieron de forma arrolladora con este genial “You Are My Vision EP” que contiene dos tracks originales, “Testify” y el que da nombre a la referencia, mas excelentes remixes a cargo del geniecillo de Dublín Lorcan Mak, el italiano Broke One y los belgas Pumpies Voyagerz. Un Ep de gran calibre y muchos kilates.

Niterockets

Niterockets. Remember that name because soon it will be on everyone’s mouth, as well as the name of one of it’s members, Monster P, the little genious from Biarritz, that already showed his skills in two killer tracks included on “Music For Bitches” compilation, “Dissin Driblin’” and “High Bear Nation”. Under the Niterockets moniker there’s two french dj / producers disturbingly youg and extremely talented that respond to the names Léo Durroty aka L&O and the aforementioned Monster P. Both crafted the incredible “Dangerous Summer Love EP” that was the fifth Tracy release and a superb work. It consists of five tracks that reinvent 90’s house for the young generations mixing it with the new club sounds, managing to get something close to what we call fidget or bassline house. ”Dangerous Summer Love (Street Version)” is a hit in the making, while the Straitjacket version of the same track marks an approach to hardcore techno with an eurobeat twist. The awesome “The Awakening” is another 90’s house inspired tune. On the remix side, Kaptain Cadillac, member of the prestigious parisian collective Booty Call, turns “Dangerous Summer Love” into a ghetto tech smash while The Loove, from Burdeaux delivers an excelent refix of the same track in a deep house meets the sound of now tip.

Recuerden este nombre porque dentro de poco va a estar en boca de todos, así como el de uno de sus integrantes: Monster P (el geniecillo de Biarritz), que ya demostró su clase con los dos temas que incluyo en el recopilatório “Music For Bitches”, “Dissin Driblin’” y “High Bear Nation”. Bajo el alias de Niterockets se esconden dos dj’s y productores franceses, de insultante juventud y desbordante talento, que responden a los nombres de Léo Durroty aka L&O y el ya citado Monster P. Ambos firmaron el increíble “Dangerous Summer Love EP” que es la quinta referencia de Tracy además de, un soberbio trabajo. Se trata de una colección de cinco tracks que reinventan el house noventero y lo mezclan con los nuevos sonidos de club consiguiendo un sabroso híbrido cercano al fidget house o bassline house. ”Dangerous Summer Love (Street Version)” es un hit en toda regla, mientras que la versión Straitjacket del mismo tema es un acercamiento al hardcore ravero que roza el eurobeat; y “The Awakening” es otro temazo de 90’s house reinventado. En el apartado remixes, Kaptain Cadillac, miembro del prestigioso colectivo parisino Booty Call, convierte “Dangerous Summer Love” en un trallazo Ghetto tech mientras que The Loove, desde Burdeos, factura una excelente revisión en clave deep house puesto-al-día de la misma “Dangerous Summer Love”.

Nujax

Barcelona meets Montreal. The sixth release of Tracy Recordings was the first encounter between Canadian duo, Nujax and the hot Spanish label. After cutting their teeth DJing at The Blue Dog Motel’s premier night ‘Sextape Fridays’, Nujax began producing a steady stream of tracks. Since then the duo’s music has been featured on some very prominent blogs including Mad Decent and NME. Their original production and remixes have been played by some of the biggest DJs around and their first EP “Aya” made a huge impact on the internacional club scene. Their three original tracks on this EP “Aya”, “Beat Gon’ Boom” and “Grid” are perfect examples of extremely well crafted club gems that perfectly blend house, techno and tropical influences. The remixes featured on the “Aya” EP all bring something really special. Los Angeles’ LOL Boys and Montpellier’s Nightdrugs both reimagine “Aya”, proving why so many people are buzzing about them. Top Billings’ Raziek has also added his unique flavor to “Beat Goon Boom” and brought us a really standout track.

¡La conexión Barcelona-Montreal!. La sexta referencia de Tracy Recordings significó el fichaje del dúo maravillas de Montreal, Nujax, para el sello barcelonés. Este proyecto conformado por Justin Adler y Alan Brinsmead, dos de los vecinos más populares de la célebre ciudad canadiense, salto a la actualidad gracias a su legendaria noche de club Sextape Fridays en The Blue Dog Motel de Montreal, para más tarde decidirse a formar Nujax y tomar al asalto la escena electrónica canadiense. Lo demás, como suele decirse, es historia. Los blogs más influyentes – Mad Decent y NMe incluidos- se han rendido a sus pies, sus temas y remixes están en las maletas de los dj’s más reputados y finalmente su impresionante “Aya Ep” llega al mercado dispuesto a poner patas arriba el circo de la nueva electrónica de club. Les aseguramos que no estamos exagerando: los tres temas originales del Ep, “Aya”, Beat Goon Boom” y “Grid”, son perfectas muestras de excelencia en el arte de facturar gemas de club, que beben del house más calido, del minimal contundente y de los sincopados ritmos tropicaloides. Y los remixes, ¡vaya remixes!. LOL Boys desde LA y Nightdrugs desde Montpellier se encargan de darle nuevos matices a “Aya” demostrando su calidad y su condición de nuevas estrellas en el panorama electro, mientras que el genial Raziek se despacha a gusto con “Beat Goon Boom” dejando claro que es uno de los nombres más pujantes de la escena francesa.

Sidechains

Sidechains is one of the freshests and more interesting projects coming from the Barcelona club scene in a long time, being on top of the young generation of artists that are rejenerating that panorama that hended young flash desperately. Alter making music for advertisements Alex Ferrer decided to Start his own solo Project, hat’s surely gonna be big. His influences range from Daft punk, Stuart Pierce (Les Rythmes Digitales), Soulwax, Chromeo to 90’s French house.The track Monster House was out on the compilation Droppin Bombs Vol 2 in EMI’s sub label Pistol Digital. He’s also part of the celebrated Project The Requesters alongide D.A.R.Y.L.. On Tracy, Through the compilation “Music For Biches” he hit he spot with “Dance While You Can” y “Real” two 24 karat jewels that fuse french touch and electro and specially with the amazing “Back 2 Skool EP” that contains “Can’t Love You Babe” and “Back 2 Skool”, two killer tracks that always manage to destroy all the dancefloors, complemented by two great remixes from Dj Donna Summer and Disco Villains.

Sidechains es uno de los proyectos más frescos e interesantes que haya surgido de la escena de clubs de Barcelona en mucho tiempo, siituándose a la cabeza de ese grupo de jóvenes productores que están regenerando un panorama demasiado estancado. Después de componer música para campañas de publicidad Alex Ferrer decidío empezar con este proyecto personal que va a dar mucho que hablar. Sus influencias van desde Daft punk, Stuart Pierce (Les Rythmes Digitales), Soulwax, Chromeo a todo el French house de los 90′.El tema Monster House aparece en el recopilatorio Droppin Bombs Vol 2 en el sub-sello de EMI Pistol Digital. Además tambien forma parte del celebre proyecto The Requesters junto a D.A.R.Y.L.. En Tracy, a través del recopilatorio “Music For Biches” se despachó a gusto con “Dance While You Can” y “Real” dos gemas de 24 kilates que unen french touch y electro consiguiendo devastar cualquier pista de baile que se precie. Pero fue con su “Back 2 Skool Ep” cuando lanzó la bomba definitiva en forma de dos hitazos, “Can’t Love You Babe” y el homonimo “Back 2 Skool”, en onda 90’s house que arrasan por doquier, completados por dos excelentes remixes a cargo de Dj Donna Summer y Disco Villains.

Strong Language

Under the Strong Language moniker hides one of Barcelona’s electronic scene best kept secrets. But if you’re a Barcelona’s clubland regular, this artist is not gonna be a mistery to you. We’re talking about Funkmasta, one of the Tracy Recordings head honchos, resident Dj at Club Vegas (Razz) and also at the Tracy residency at Nitsa, not to mention his usual sets at prominent nights like boombox or Noise Club. This excellent disc jockey known for his solid and elegant sets, uses the Strong Language aka to jump into production issues. Although messing around in the studio is nothing new for him, cause he’s a classic trained professional musician and he’s also released stuff under the name The Lords Of Tracy, it’s as Strong Langauge when he reaches his maximum expression, blending ingredients like Chicago house, boogie, Detroit scents and a pinch of bass to get a dellicious beverage, a mixture of flavours resulting in a personal and not tranfearable sound. The Wool remix, out on Tracy, will be his debut but he has several tracks ready to be included in his first Tarcy Ep alongside offers from international labels. Detrás de Strong Language se esconde uno de los secretos mejor guardados de la escena electrónica barcelonesa; aunque si eres un asiduo de los clubs de la ciudad condal este artista no será ningún secreto para tí. Se trata de Funkmasta, uno de los capos de Tracy Recordings, residente en Nitsa con su sello y también en Razz como miembro de Club Vegas, así como habitual en sesiones destacadas como Boombox, Noise Club, y otras. Este excelente disc jockey conocido por la finura, elegancia y solidez de sus sets se calza el alias de Strong Language para dar el salto a tareas de producción -aunque la tarea de componer, ecualizar o manipular sonidos no es nada nuevo para él pues es músico profesional de sólida formación clásica y a nivel club ya ha editado algún track bajo el nombre de The Lords Of Tracy. Pero es bajo el paraguas Strong Language donde alcanza su máxima expresión y madurez como productor destilando una serie de ingredientes como el Chicago House, el boogie, esencias de Detroit y toques de Bass, para conseguir un brebaje realmente delicioso, una mezcla de sabores con un resultado final personal e intransferible. Su remix para Wool en Tracy significará su debut, pero ya tiene preparados varios tracks a incluir en lo que será su primer Ep en Tracy, así como posibles releases en sellos internacionales. Manténganse al aparato, este hombre va a dar mucho que hablar.

theAmplid

TheAmplid started at he end of 2006. Xavi was producing minimal-techno for a while under the name Imposible and Roger was djing as Radiocontrol playing sets that included sounds like indie pop, electroclash and electro/house. They decide to make something toghether and the result is “Plugin” that will be released on Prestel Records, label which they share wih names like Cobra Dukes, Das Pop, Dada Life or Romanthony. With the idea to make dirty, raw and distored electro in mind, suitable for Roger to play in his sets, the project evolves and the next result is “You Are” released in the italian netlabel The Family Records. They also have their Acid Boys Rec.project, a way to connect with other artists in the international electronic scene. From that point they’ve kept on doing tracks that appeared on their myspace and on their live shows, until they hooked up with Tracy Recordings releasing “Bernadette”, that was included in the compilation “Music For Bitches” and was also the main track in their excelent Ep that included Louis La Roche and Dj Beware remixes, alongside their great original “Crashed In A Chase”. The idea for TheAmplid is plain and simple, to make tracks that they like themselves and that are suitable for dj sets, fusing electro and house, basically to have fun late at night. Influencies?…from Daft Punk to new sounds like Justice, Digitalism or Boys Noize. Always mixed with the brilliant theAmplid touch, of course.

TheAmplid nació a finales de 2006. Xavi llevaba ya tiempo produciendo minimal-techno como Imposible y Roger hacia lo propio pinchando como Radiocontrol, con influencias más cercanas al indie, electroclash y electro/house. Deciden hacer algo juntos y sale “Plugin” que se editará en Prestel Records, sello de gente como Cobra Dukes, Das Pop, Dada Life o Romanthony. Con la idea de hacer electro distorsionado y crudo para poder pincharlo en los sets de Radiocontrol, fue avanzando el proyecto y el siguiente fruto fue “You Are” editado en el netlabel italiano The Family Records. Por otro lado, a través del proyecto (que parece estar en stand by) ACID BOYS REC. establecen conexión con diversos artistas a nivel internacional.
Desde entonces van pariendo temas -que suenan en su myspace o en sus directos- hasta que contactan con Tracy Recordings, con quien realizan su puesta de largo en forma de “Bernadette”; tema incluido en el reciopilatorio “Music For Bitches” y que seria también el track estrella de su primer release para Tracy, en un Ep que incluía también remixes a cargo de Louis La Roche y Dj beware, así como el excelente original “Crashed In A Car Chase”. La idea de TheAmplid no es más que hacer temas que les gusten a ellos mismos, que se puedan pinchar y que combinen el electro y el house para pasarlo bien. Influencias…desde Daft Punk hasta sonidos más nuevos como Justice, Digitalism o Boys Noize, que siempre combinan con el genial toque theAmplid.

The Knight Cats

The Knight Cats are the Stars in the third chapter of the Tracy Recordings French connection. After Niterockets and Night Drugs, here comes this young duo of dj’s / producers coming from Paris, with their personal sound full of rave stabs, solid beats and deep basslines. Promoters of the Haze parties and editors of the fantastic blog Major League House, this two french artistsestos one of the most promising names in the French scene.dos The Knight Cats sound like Kevin Saunderson, Adonis and Caspar Pound,beeing twentysomthing again, living in paris and gathering toghether in front of a laptop to produce high octane floorfillers. The Knight Cats shake their atomic shaker with the sounds of Chicago, Detroit and Uk hardcore to get a modern and devastatting hybrid.

El fichaje de The Knight Cats es el tercer capítulo de la conexión francesa de Tracy Recordings. Tras Niterockets y Night Drugs, llega este joven duo de dj’s y productores procedente de París, con su personal sonido cargado de stabs raveros, beats contundentes y bajos profundos. Responsables de las fiestas Haze de la capital del sena y autores del celebrado blog Major League House, estos dos talentos franceses tienen registrado uno de los nombres con más proyección de la escena gala. The Knight Cats suenan como si Kevin Saunderson, Adonis y Caspar Pound tuvieran veinte y pocos años, vivieran en París y se sentaran juntos frente al laptop para producir temazos pisteros de alto octanaje. Three restless minds, three excellent dj’s and producers, three nightime personalities that turn any party into a happening. Ginebra, Kosmos and Funkmasta are all of this and more. Alongside other creative matters, they run the exelent spanish label Tracy Recordings, one of the most tasteful and outstanding products coming from Barcelona, ready to conquer the World with it’s fresh sound. When they get toghether in the dj booth for a back to back set representing Tracy, they are known as Tracy Dj’s, offering masterclasses that fuse fidget, bass, juke, moombahton, electro or dubstep, exuding the sound that has made the label famous and destroying any dancefloor that requires their services.

Entre otras cosas por que dirigen el impecable sello Tracy Recordings, uno de los productos musicales con más sustancia que se haya exportado desde Barcelona y label pionero en los nuevos sonidos de club que arrasan poir todo el mundo. Cuando les da por juntarse tras los platos y hacer sesiones back to back, se cuelgan el escudo de Tracy y se les conoce como Tracy Dj’s impartiendo masterclasses donde se fusionan estilos como fidget, bassline, juke, moombahton, electro o dubstep, destilando el sonido que ha hecho a su sello celebre y poniendo del revés cualquier pista de baile que se les ponga en medio.

Wool


GLEN ‘WOOL’ BRADY is a Music Producer, Sound Designer and DJ from Ireland who splits his time between San Francisco, California and Berlin, Germany. He’s had a string of releases in the past couple of years on labels such as Discobelle Records-Sweden, Top Billin’- Helsinki, Plant Music- New York, Tracy Recordings- Barcelona, and more.

Glen is a founding member of Indie Dance duo The Glass who began releasing on Four Music in 2005 with the hit Won’t Bother Me and have released numerous singles and Ep’s and the album At Swim Two Birds. The Glass have co-written songs with 20/20 Soundsytem, remixed and have been remixed by many names from Mylo to Todd Terry. Their 2011 single Four Four Letter hit #2 on the Beatport Indie Dance Chart, Top Ten on the German Club Chart and #5 on UK Cool Cuts chart. The single has been getting huge support from DJs including Aeroplane, Cassius, Malente, Russ Chimes, Tony Humphries and has had consistent play on UK’s BBC Radio 1. Their latest single Washed Up was released Feb 2012 and included remixes by Todd Terry and The Smiths’ bassist Andy Rourke.

Wool has recently broken out as a solo artist and touring DJ consistently blazing dance floors quite literally across the globe. Best described as House Music, Wool’s sound (as recently heard on mixes for Urb.com and Pulseradio.net) encompasses Disco, Techno & Bass in a deep, forward thinking blend. His single ‘Kult Leader’ featuring South African wunderkind Spoek Mathambo on Discobelle Records last year caused quite an internet ruckus as the video depicted a suicide bomber encounter in a Berlin nightclub!

Music by Glen Brady as Wool and The Glass features widely on U.S. television network series such as CW’s Gossip Girl, CBS’ CSI Miami and New York, FOX TV’s Lie To Me, MTV’s The Hills and new Beavis & Butthead, and CTV’s Eleventh Hour, amongst others. DJ Wool’s Strobelight featuring Subtitle is featured on Disney’s iPhone App Tap Tap Revenge. Wool’s Remix clients include: Far East Movement, Snoop Dog, Rakim, Smalltown Romeo, Izza Kizza, Camp Lo, Tittsworth, Disco of Doom, Richard Richard and many more.

He was also DMC mixing champion in his home country of Ireland in 1998.

Aún recordando nuestra última visita hace un par de años, en la noche que Kosmos compartió cabina con CROOKERS y Funkmasta y servidora la liaron mucho en la Boite :)
